The story is that last week (Monday, March 23), the Screening Guild Council introduced the names of 7 films as the films of the Nowruz Screening Basket; An event that seemed strange and unprecedented; But what made this announcement strange?

According to the regulations of the Screening Guild Council, this council can manage the screening of Iranian films by holding a meeting with the members of the screening queue; However, according to the same regulations, the final decision on Nowruz films has been left to a higher body, the country’s cinema organization, due to the sensitivity and high demand of this period. This means that the Screening Guild Council can only make suggestions about Nowruz films and is not a decision-maker.

The cinema organization must also decide on the Nowruz screening by forming a committee consisting of the director of the cinema house, the secretary of the theater union council, the deputy director of monitoring and evaluation of the cinema organization and the representative of the head of the cinema organization.

The Nowruz Screening Committee of the Cinema Organization should also select films based on interests, audience, country atmosphere and religious occasions. According to this issue, Nowruz in 1401 is connected to the holy month of Ramadan, and this means that all Nowruz films will be screened in cinemas during the holy month of Ramadan. For this reason, the holy month of Ramadan influences the selection of Nowruz movies.

There are only a few days left until the 18th of Esfand and the beginning of the screening of Nowruz films, and the Nowruz Screening Committee of the Cinema Organization should announce the new films of the country’s cinemas as soon as possible; But they should not forget that they had previously promised to pay special attention to children’s cinema.

According to some rumors, the films “Dog” and “Shadruvan” are among the comedy works released on Nowruz; However, “Shadruvan” is not a comedy according to its creators, and according to the producer, it has been shortened by 4 minutes to get the show license.

Also, the films “Day Zero” and “Mahdi’s Position” are considered as Nowruz screens. On the other hand, it has been heard that works such as “Laminor” and “Alfzar” are not suitable for Nowruz and the holy month of Ramadan due to their subject matter and do not have a place in this list.
