The need for parliament to cooperate with the government in reforming the preferred currency

According to the economic correspondent of Fars News Agency, Massoud Khansari today in the 29th meeting of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, referring to economic developments, said: “It seems that the world has been able to deal with the corona crisis and to some extent the corona epidemic in the world has ended. Economic growth has been good in most countries, especially in countries where vaccination is widespread.

The head of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce added: “Its effects are also visible, one of which is the increase in oil prices, which has increased significantly in recent months, and we have also seen an increase in food prices in the world, which almost increased food prices in the world. Such an increase is unprecedented since 2011. The largest increase in prices was for wheat, which in addition to increasing the price of wheat due to reduced exports from Canada, Russia and the United States, wheat prices increased significantly.

He said: “Fortunately, in Iran, due to good vaccination in recent months, it seems that it has had good economic and social effects, and people’s anxiety and stress has decreased, and mortality has also decreased sharply.”

Khansari said that the most important issue facing the country after the corona is economic issues and problems, adding: “The most important issue in the economic debate is inflation and we still have inflation above 40% and although it has decreased slightly in recent months, but According to the latest statistics, 44% of the country’s inflation is very worrying.

The head of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce said: “Fortunately, this issue has been taken into account in the budget bill, and we hope that the parliament will accompany us and present a budget that is balanced and we will face a smaller deficit next year and inflation will decrease.”

Referring to the destructive effects of 4200 Tomans, he said: “We hope that the parliament will cooperate and the currency will be a single currency next year, because 4200 Tomans, in addition to destructive effects, causes rent and corruption, and we hope that the discussion on eliminating preferred currency in next year’s budget And the government should approve it.

Khansari stated that the private sector wants to follow the negotiations of Borjam, and said: “We hope that the sanctions will be lifted as soon as possible and that the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran will interact with all countries.”

He said: “Sanctions have dealt irreparable blows to the country’s economy and estimates show that between 10 and 20 percent of the cost of transactions has been added, and therefore we have to buy goods at higher prices and export at a higher cost.” If this figure, which is more than tens of billions of dollars annually, enters the country’s economic cycle, it will certainly be very effective in the production and prosperity of the country’s economy, and we hope that the sanctions will be lifted as soon as possible.

The head of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce said about the recent developments in the neighbors: “In the past months and weeks, we have witnessed a sharp devaluation of the lira in Turkey, which may be due to incorrect policies that increased inflation in this country, but the important point is that Turkey was able to take advantage of this situation and the increase in the exchange rate was very effective in growing its exports.

He added: “In one month of October 2011, Turkish exports increased by 20%, and in the two months of September and October, Turkey’s export revenue was $ 21 billion every month, and their forecast is that by the end of the year, their export figure will reach $ 220 billion.” This is the most unprecedented export figure for Turkey in the last decade.

Khansari said: “If the same thing happened to the country in 1997 and the dollar jumped once in Iran, then instead of the government supporting the exporters, unfortunately, with a so-called pessimistic attitude, it caused not only us We did not take advantage of this opportunity, which was similar to Turkey, but exports also decreased.

Referring to the recent events in Afghanistan, Khansari said: “Afghanistan has not been in a good economic situation for several months, and a large number of capitalists have left Afghanistan or are not engaged in economic activities, and exchange offices in this country have been closed and our exchange It has reached a minimum with Afghanistan.

Khansari said: “My recommendation is that the government take advantage of this situation and now is the best opportunity for the government to make joint investments with Afghanistan, especially in relation to mines.”

He said: “In the case of water transfer, measures can be taken with Afghanistan so that instead of transferring water from the Persian Gulf, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Afghanistan.”

Khansari said: “Now is the best time to use the current situation in Afghanistan for our economy and Afghanistan.”

“China imports an average of 10 million barrels a day, and in October it imported 9.8 million barrels a day, which seems to be the Chinese government’s limit for public and private refineries,” he said. To resist rising oil prices.
