The Oppo clamshell smartphone will be codenamed Peacock next month


Oppo has been working on a clamshell smartphone for some time, but the company has not officially launched the device yet. An informed source on Weibo claims that the Oppo clamshell smartphone, codenamed Peacock, will be released next month. The source also claims that the company has another advanced device codenamed Butterfly, which is scheduled to be released next year.

The report adds that the clamshell device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, while the Butterfly smartphone, which launches early next year, could be an Oppo Find X4 series processor. The future of Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 will be strong.

Apart from the clamshell smartphone, the Chinese company is also preparing to launch the next generation of OPPO Reno 7 series smartphones.
