In response to Gadget News about the removal of Balad’s navigation application and map from Google Play, Balad Public Relations Office stated that the reason for this was the US Treasury Department’s economic sanctions against Iran.

Today, Google removed 3 Iranian applications of Aparat, Filimo and Roud Balad from Google Play. In response to this move, Balad Public Relations sent a statement to Gadget News.

In response to Gadget News, Balad Public Relations said:

Google Play has removed Balad Maps and Routers from users, citing Section 16.5 of the Developers’ Agreement due to US Treasury Department economic sanctions.

We’d love to get back to Google Play by negotiating with people related to this issue at that company. In any case, the Android version of Balad is still available for users in the Iranian application platforms (Bazaar and Miket).
