The Sony Xperia 1 Mark 6 arrives in an eggshell box

According to the latest rumor, Sony will introduce the next generation of its flagship earlier than expected and we should wait for the introduction of the Xperia 1 Mark 6 phone at the Mobile World Congress in late February 2024.

This rumor apparently originates from a Sony dealer. The source also posted an image that appears to be Sony’s invitation to its next flagship event at MWC 2024. Therefore, it is possible that the Xperia 1 VI will be introduced several months earlier than its predecessor. Xperia 1 Mark 5 was announced at the end of May 2023.

A box made of egg comb for Xperia 1 Mark 6?

Based on the image of the invitation, Sony apparently wants to use the egg comb to make its next flagship box. In this invitation, it is written that “The next one is coming. The most sustainable packaging in the world.” Below this text, you can see an egg package with Sony Xperia written on it. So, apparently, the same material is used to make the Xperia 1 VI box.

Like most 2024 flagships, Sony’s upcoming phone is expected to be equipped with a 3rd generation Snapdragon 8 chip. Of course, before Xperia 1 VI, Galaxy S24 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Pro are expected to be introduced with Qualcomm’s flagship chip.

Other rumored features for Sony’s next flagship include a 6x optical zoom capability with a larger sensor, which is higher than the 5x optical zoom of the Xperia 1 Mark 5. In addition, Xperia 1 Mark 6 uses Clear Image Zoom technology.
