The United States does not normalize its relations with Syria and hinders others

A State Department spokesman stressed Thursday morning that the Washington administration has no plans to “normalize or enhance” diplomatic relations with the Syrian government led by Bashar al-Assad.

According to Reuters, the US diplomat also said that Washington is forbidding other countries from returning to normal relations with the Damascus government.

Earlier, White House spokeswoman Jennifer Sackie welcomed the resumption of flights to Syria and Jordan at a news conference.
