The United States has imposed sanctions on four companies and one Chinese citizen

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in a statement on Wednesday that the United States was offering a $ 5 million reward for information leading to the capture of a man named Chuan Fat Yip.

Blinken claims that this person is one of the largest producers of anabolic steroids in the world.

The United States says it will step up its efforts to tackle the addiction epidemic that kills hundreds of Americans every day.

Washington also claims to disrupt global supply chains and financial networks that help bring precursor and synthetic psychotropic chemicals into the United States.

The US Treasury Department also sanctioned two drug trafficking groups in Mexico and one in Brazil, and set a $ 5 million reward for information leading to the arrest of several of their leaders.

Earlier, the Financial Times reported that the United States would add eight Chinese companies to its blacklist, including DJI (the world’s largest commercial UAV manufacturer).

The Financial Times reported that the US Treasury Department blacklisted these companies for “monitoring military-industrial companies” for monitoring the activities of the Uighur minority.

According to the US Treasury Department, US investors have been barred from investing in the listed companies, which number about 60.

The move comes as the United States blacklisted China-based artificial intelligence company Sense Time Group a few days ago.

The United States has accused the company of making programs to identify individuals by focusing on identifying Uyghurs. The company denied the allegations in a statement.

The United States also recently imposed so-called widespread human rights sanctions on dozens of individuals and companies affiliated with China, Myanmar, North Korea and Bangladesh in its latest move. The Chinese embassy in Washington dismissed the US move as “serious interference in China’s internal affairs and a serious violation of international relations standards.” A Chinese embassy spokesman stressed that the move would severely damage Sino-US relations and called on Washington to lift the sanctions.
