The weather in Tehran turned red



According to Ekhtaz Online, quoted by IRNA, Tehran’s air quality index reached 152 on Tuesday evening, and the air of the capital was polluted for all citizens.

Also, due to air pollution, preschools and elementary schools in Tehran were closed in the morning and evening, and emergency buses are stationed in Azadi, Inglaeb and Tajrish squares to serve the citizens.

From the beginning of this year to today, eight days of clean air, 170 days of acceptable air, 55 days of unhealthy air for sensitive groups and five days of unhealthy air for all groups have been recorded in the air pollution index of the capital city.

According to IRNA, the air quality index is a measure for daily determination of air quality and its relationship with people’s health levels, which ranges from 0 to 50 in clean or green conditions, 51 to 100 in acceptable or yellow conditions, and 101 to 150 in healthy conditions. Unhealthy for the sensitive or orange group, 151 to 200 for unhealthy for all or red, 201 to 300 for very unhealthy or purple, and 301 to 500 for dangerous or purple.
