This iPhone has survived a 4900 meter fall from inside the plane!

A few days ago, a part of the fuselage of a Boeing 737 Max 9 belonging to Alaska Airlines exploded. Now, it has been announced in a report that the iPhone of one of the passengers fell from a height of 16,000 feet (approximately 4,900 meters) in this accident and was found unharmed and its screen was still open on the Mail app.

According to the announcement of a user on X named “Shanathan Bates“, he found an iPhone on the side of the road in Portland, Oregon, USA, with no problems, and in fact, the Mail app page was still open on it. The screen of the phone was not cracked or broken, but this issue can probably be partially affected by the glass and its protective frame.

Bates tweeted that he reported the matter to the National Transportation Safety Board, and officials came to pick up the phone. The agency apparently told Bates that this iPhone was the second phone recovered following the incident.

An iPhone that survived after falling a few thousand meters

According to the image that has been published of this phone, it does not seem that this iPhone suffered any special damage during the fall of approximately 4900 meters. The only notable thing is the broken connector protruding from the bottom port of the device and it is not clear how it got to this state. However, Bates said the phone worked without any problems.

Although Apple uses Ceramic Shield protection in its new iPhones, even the company itself has not tested it from a drop of 16,000 feet, and it seems that this phone’s survival was due to the luck of its owner. Of course, as we said, the protective frame and its glass certainly played a role in this issue. On the other hand, it looks like the phone fell on the grass which probably took some of the impact.
