According to the Fars news agency’s music correspondent, the unveiling ceremony of the book “Thunder Santour” by Mehdi Mortezaei was held at the Beethoven Museum.

The Thunder book is a collection of pieces for high school and high school dulcimer courses. The first volume of this book was held on Friday in the presence of music and cinema artists at the Beethoven Museum House.

Some pieces of Iranian pop and classical nostalgia, along with pieces by Mehdi Mortezaei, the compiler and arranger of the work, are included in the content of the lessons and educational etudes of the book.

Mehdi Mortezaei, composer and santour player, in response to a question from a Fars music reporter and in explaining this book, said: Revealed the capabilities of the beautiful dulcimer and added to the charm of this instrument.

He added: “In the mentioned book, an attempt has been made to make students more familiar with the contemporary techniques of playing the santur and to be able to experience a more modern style of playing in the form of performing pieces.”
The design of the book is arranged in such a way that high school students can benefit from the book.

The santur player and the author of the book “Thunder” explained: “After years of teaching experience, I came to the conclusion that the performance of some pop and Iranian pieces can be attractive with the santur instrument and show the capabilities of this instrument more and more, and the generations to come.” In this way, in addition to becoming more interested in this instrument, they can also get more acquainted with our classical music repertoire. In arranging the parts of this book, an attempt has been made to make more use of the two-tone techniques of left and right percussion, which are performed independently, which is in fact a continuation of the contemporary dulcimer process of Ardavan Kamkar.

He continued: “Continuous and rhythmic passages that will help the musician play agile, of course, while maintaining the principles of aesthetics in the piece, which will all serve the main melody, techniques are included to strengthen the left hand, which helps to empower the percussion Left musician. Regarding the writing and arrangement of the songs written in this book, I would also like to say that the tuning process is based on maintaining the beauty of the melody and melody by performing contemporary techniques today, which will add to the brilliance of the pieces performed with this instrument.

Mehdi Mortezaei has studied Santour playing with Reza Niazi and advanced and advanced contemporary Santour playing courses with Ardavan Kamkar, and has been working as a Santour musician, composer, arranger and teacher for many years.
