Traffic of European Troika political trips to Moscow


According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, following the ongoing tensions over Ukraine, Moscow will host senior officials from France, Britain and Germany in the coming weeks.

According to the network website France 24, French President Emmanuel Macron will travel to Moscow on Monday to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. He will arrive in Kiev the next day to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelinsky.

Macron also spoke separately with Putin and Zelensky yesterday (Thursday) to discuss resolving tensions in Ukraine, the French network wrote. In these contacts, Macron stressed that the move to reduce tensions must be through dialogue and diplomacy. He also stressed the importance of discussing the conditions for achieving strategic equilibrium in Europe, which would lead to a reduction of tensions in the field and a guarantee of security for the continent.

In addition, according to the news agency «SputnikRussia’s ambassador to London, Andrei Klein, announced on Friday that Foreign Secretary Liz Terrace and British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace would travel to Moscow in the middle of this month. Terrace’s trip to Russia was supposed to take place earlier, but his infection with the Corona virus has delayed the trip.

Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Schultz has announced plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future. Schultz said in a television interview that he would travel to Moscow in the near future, where he would meet with Putin.

“Of course I also talked to the Russian president and we are carefully preparing everything that is needed,” the German chancellor said. “I will go to the United States (on February 7), and I will also talk in Moscow soon about the issues that need to be (discussed).” (More details)
