Transfer of 220 million year old corals to Tabas Geological Museum

Referring to the transfer of a number of new fossils to the Tabas Land Heritage Museum, Shoaib said: “These fossils were discovered during an expert visit to the site of the southern areas of the Geopark in late February, which is very rare and valuable.”
He added: “The newly discovered fossil site, including a variety of corals and bivalves, belongs to about 205 to 220 million years ago, and the variety and expansion of fossil layers in this site is unique.”
Shoaib said: “Some of these fossils have been transferred to the Tabas Land Heritage Museum for public study and visit.”
He reminded: The oldest fossil that is kept in Tabas Geopark dates back to 530 million years ago and is one of the spectacular tourist attractions in this city.
