According to Fars News Agency’s visual correspondent, the press conference of the 14th Fajr Visual Arts Festival was held in the presence of Seyed Abbas Mirhashemi, Secretary General and Amir Rad, Artistic Secretary of the festival before noon today (Tuesday, February 4) at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Tehran. The festival will open on Friday, February 6, at the Saba Complex.

Mirhashemi said at the beginning of the meeting: “The festival can make efforts that have a research basis, and the more we introduce the visual arts to the community, the better the taste of the community will be and the more it will not accept anything as art.”

He continued about the differences between this period and the previous 13 periods of the festival: We tried to study the ups and downs of the previous periods and identify new topics and we tried to bring the festival to its place.

The secretary general of the 14th Fajr Festival of Visual Arts said: “The secretariat started working in October and we considered 10 arts, which was the highest percentage of growth in participation in the fields of caricature, painting and illustration.”

He added: “We tried to activate the articles section.” Visualization of art is also part of the decentralization of the capital. We also received 733 works from 463 artists in the Special Sacrifice and Sacrifice section, which addresses issues such as coronation and medical staff sacrifice. In this section, we have also invited artists.

Mirhashemi, presenting statistics on the participants in the 14th Fajr Visual Arts Festival, stated: 4345 artists sent 10,862 works to the secretariat, with paintings, photography and graphics in the first to third ranks. The lowest acceptance of ceramics was with 125 works by 67 artists. The number of male participants was 1785 and the number of female participants was 2560.

The Secretary General of the 14th Fajr Visual Arts Festival noted: 399 works in the Golden Touba section have entered the exhibition and 70 works by 69 artists in the Sacrifice and Sacrifice section.

He continued: The number of participants from Tehran province is 1473 people and from other provinces is 2872 people.

Mirhashemi said: “One of the gaps of the festival is that we do not have an operation unit.” Many of the works in the festival can be reproduced and sold, and in the field of volume, we know that the work can be included in our urban architecture. For this reason, we have negotiated with the municipality so that the works do not return home after the end of the festival. If that happens then we can say we’ve been successful. That is, the festival should be transformed from a project to a process.

Regarding the reaction of Hassan Rouhalamin to his absence from the festival, the secretary general of the 14th Fajr Visual Arts Festival said: “His work is in the field of self-sacrifice and out of competition, and his work has been borrowed from the treasury of the Revolutionary Association.”

* Refusal of some invited artists to attend the Fajr Visual Arts Festival

Amir Rad, the artistic secretary of the festival, also stated in this meeting: “This year, we have a curatorial section called” Katib “curated by Jamshid Haghighat Shenas, and we have put it so that in the future we can have our own view in this way.”

He added: “Also in the military section of Ganjavi, the focus is on new arts.” Also, 15 articles have been commissioned from 14 artists, the most important of which are “Economics of Art, Women in Art and Art Markets”.

The artistic secretary of the 14th Fajr Festival of Visual Arts noted: “We have the celebration of Moghaddam and Kambiz Darbakhsh shoemakers in this year’s festival.”

He claimed about the presence of some permanent and permanent figures in the festival: We contacted many people, but they refused to attend the festival for various reasons, such as not being in Tehran, differences of taste, and so on.
