Unveiling of the most powerful version of Iran’s three-cylinder engine, Khodro, by the end of the year

And produce a torque of 240 Nm, which is admirable among competitors.

He continued: The latest laboratory engine of this project will be unveiled by the end of this year. This version is the most powerful member of this family.

Sharghi announced the preparation of the industrial stage of the one-liter three-cylinder engine and said: this engine can be used in two-wheeled vehicles.

He added: The roadmap of Iran Khodro driving forces includes the construction of four engines from a family with different powers and torques. This engine family also has the ability to sell or export to other manufacturers, which is a strong point for the country’s automobile industry.

Regarding the fuel consumption of these engines, he said: “These three engines will have an average fuel consumption of about 5.5 liters per 100 kilometers in the combined cycle on the insoles under development in Iran-Khodro, and will be ready to be installed on products by the end of 1401.” New Iran has a car based on the product portfolio program.

Sharghi mentioned the commonality of the components of the three-cylinder engine family as one of its advantages and said: “As a result of this technical commonality and high production numbers, production costs will be reduced.”

He said: “In the roadmap, one of the goals for this project is the amount of production and numbers of this engine, which should reach 2,780,000 units in a period of six years, 50,000 units in the first year, and 150,000 units in the second year.” And from 1404, 800,000 units of this engine family will be produced in a mutated form. The ultimate goal of Iran Khodro is to replace a large share of product engines with three-cylinder engines.

He added: “Apart from reducing fuel consumption and pollution levels, these engines have also brought a high level of employment, and 34 parts manufacturing companies directly along with Iran Khodro Industrial Group have a key role in this project.”

The manager of the three-cylinder engine family project in Iran called the quality of parts one of the main concerns of the production of the three-cylinder family and said: “Strict control and supervision is applied in the production process of this engine.”

Sharghi considered Iran Khodro the trump card of the three-cylinder engine and said: the lifespan of this engine without major repairs is considered above 240,000 km, according to this goal, the engines should not need any major repairs before this level of operation. To be. Therefore, one of the points that has been considered in the design of these motors is not to use the timing belt (time) and replace it with a new generation chain known as silent chain, which helps to increase the useful life of the engine.

Sharghi, referring to the design and testing of special parts in Iran Khodro three-cylinder engines such as balancers and oil modules, said: The balance of the crank mechanism of three-cylinder engines, due to the individual number of cylinders, requires a very precise balancing design in the crankshaft. And the cooperation of domestic parts manufacturers has been done and in the oil powder section, high quality parts with high efficiency have been designed.
