Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister has denied a secret meeting between Saudi and Iranian security experts in Jordan, Mehr news agency reported, quoting Russia Today.

Faisal bin Farhan told a joint news conference with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri in Cairo that no meeting had taken place between Saudi and Iranian experts in Jordan.

He added that Jordan hosted a security meeting attended by people from different countries.

The Saudi foreign minister also said that there had been a series of direct talks between Tehran and Riyadh, which had already been officially announced.

Faisal bin Farhan also added that Saudi Arabia welcomes any talks with Iran.
