What did a “insurance” / corona vacancy do for craft artists?

According to the Fars News Agency, many artists complain that the original and old Iranian arts are being forgotten and that handicrafts do not have the same credibility as in the past, and that everyone puts the title of handicrafts on their handicrafts.

Meanwhile, the negligence of the relevant officials towards the situation of handicraft artists, especially in the corona, has doubled these dissatisfactions, while Iran is currently one of the three major centers of handicraft production in the world.

One of these complaints, which is the most important and major complaint of handicraft artists, is the issue of handicraft insurance.

An issue that became more and more important during the Corona and the holidays, and perhaps if special attention had been paid to this, handicraft artists would be in a better position today, although a few months ago Pouya Mahmoudian, Deputy Minister of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts, The insurance process of 2,332 new craftsmen and artists was announced from the beginning of August 1400, but this statistic may meet the demands of a small number of these artists.

Rezvan Hajian is one of these artists who, according to him, has been traveling in the field of handicraft insurance for 4 years. .

His plans to improve the status of handicrafts have won many festivals, but due to lack of support, he has not been able to implement any of them.

In an interview with a Fars reporter, he says about the process of his activities: “Since I graduated in 1994, I learned how to make silver jewelry with the help of a friend and through videos available in cyberspace.

At the same time, a company under the Relief Committee, seeing my work, registered a series of orders for engraving plates and jewelry. Due to the volume of work, I decided to rent a workshop and hire a number of students to train and work in the workshop.

But these conditions did not last long because two months after renting the workshop in the Safavid house of Isfahan, they announced that the corona had reached Iran and should be closed everywhere.

Due to the fact that we worked in a cultural and artistic complex, where there were also cafes, restaurants and museums, every time our work was announced to be closed, we had to deal with the first and second couriers, but then Since then, the holidays have become longer and this has created many problems for us.

In this situation, if the handicraft insurance was active for us, the situation would be very different, but unfortunately, after 4 years, no action has been taken in this regard.

I called again these days to follow up on the matter again, but the Isfahan Handicrafts Deputy informed me that I had to renew my technical and professional card. Extended for a year, I called again to raise the issue but no one answered me anymore.

“All these bureaucracies and negligence have caused many handicraft artists to fall into coronary conditions.”

Meanwhile, Majdaldin Taj, vice president of the Isfahan Handicrafts Union, said: “Unfortunately, since 1993, due to lack of funds, the government’s debt to the Social Security Organization has not been paid, and artists who were not previously insured or recently entered the field of activity. Have not been insured by handicraft artists.

The number of insured people in the workshops is 90,000, of course, this is the number of people who have a work ID and have been identified, but indirectly and without obtaining an activity license, there are also people working in homes that are many times more than this number. “They have no insurance and they make an indirect living in Isfahan’s handicraft industry.”

All of this, along with the increase in the price of raw materials, has made handicraft artists more and more frustrated with their work situation. The price has increased from 280 to 300 thousand tomans.

Due to the recession in tourism and as a result of the decrease in turnover, especially in the handicrafts sector of different cities, it is better for the relevant officials, especially the handicrafts department of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, to pay special attention to the artists in this sector. Artists’ insurance will become a medicine after Sohrab’s death.
