From 1999 to 1402, the statistics related to the average cost of housing in the portfolio of households have not been published by the custodian of this sector, i.e. the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. Last week, after about 9 months, the Deputy Housing and Construction Minister of Roads and Urban Development explained the government’s plans in the construction of the National Housing Movement during a press conference.

Announcing some good news, including the approval of 300 and 400 million Tomans loans with 2% interest for vulnerable groups, Abbasi explained the details of giving 200-meter plots to families with 3 children (the third child or more born on November 24, 1400 onwards). . Of course, in this meeting, he left Tasnim’s reporter’s question about the average cost of housing in the households’ basket unanswered and postponed it until later.

In the middle of April this year, Khalil Mohabbateh, the former Director General of Roads and Urban Development of Tehran province, recalling that in 1401, the average price of housing in Tehran reached 55 million tomans, he said: the price of housing constitutes 70% of the cost of every household in Tehran.

While the average cost of housing in the cost basket of urban and rural households is unclear, the information related to the developments in the housing market of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development is no longer available. Inflation in recent years shows that housing still accounts for the largest share in households’ portfolios.
