WhatsApp finally added the ability to pin chat messages to its messenger a few years after Telegram. Before this, only chat pages were pinned.

It was possible to pin a chat page to the top of the list to make it easier to find that contact or group; But you couldn’t pin a message to the top on a chat page. WhatsApp has been working on the development of such a feature since the beginning of 2023, and now it has finally provided users with the ability to pin messages. This is a feature that Telegram added to its messenger years ago, and users can pin multiple different messages in groups and personal chat pages. The ability to pin WhatsApp messages is not the same as Telegram

With this new feature, you can now pin a specific message to the top of the chat screen. This is the perfect option for when you don’t want important information such as address, phone number, date of meeting, etc. to be lost in your chats. WhatsApp allows you to choose a date for a message to remain pinned. It can be 24 hours, 7 days or 1 month, which is set to 7 days by default.

To pin a message, just hold your finger on it and then select the Pin option from the displayed menu. Now you have to choose the desired time for it to stay pinned on the top of the chat screen and finally confirm the operation.

Any message can be pinned, even emojis or photos. It also features end-to-end encryption for your pinned messages. Chat group administrators can now choose whether only they should have the ability to pin messages, or whether other users should be able to do so as well.

To use this feature, first make sure that you have updated the WhatsApp messenger to the latest version. If you don’t see it yet, this option will probably be activated for you in the coming days.
