In the beta version of WhatsApp, new application features can be seen that we have been waiting for their presence in this program for a long time and will be officially added soon.

If we compare WhatsApp with other messengers such as Telegram, we will notice many differences that make it difficult to work with WhatsApp. However, the program has always tried to reduce the distance to other popular messengers and add new features. Recently, there was a report from Android Headlines that in the beta version of WhatsApp, new application features have been added that will be available to all users soon.

Shortcut to search for messages

For now, if you want to search through messages, you have a long way to go. You must first open a chat with a contact or group, then tap the three-point menu and select Search. But soon the app will have a faster way to find the messages you want.

A new shortcut for search has been released in version 2.22.6.3 of the beta released for Android. Of course, this new solution is not much different from the previous route, but with this shortcut, you can find the messages you want from the same contact information page. This way, the messages will no longer need to be opened, and this process will be faster.

Functional features

Such useful features are being investigated by a small group of WhatsApp beta testers, and reports of bugs and shortcut display problems are heard. Since this feature has not been officially introduced yet, bugs and problems are not far off.

Unfortunately, no official announcement has been made about this new WhatsApp feature yet, and we will have to wait for the official release of this feature in the next WhatsApp updates.

Reaction to messages and links for calls

The ability to search through messages will not be the only new feature of WhatsApp, and test teams are testing other features such as the ability to send reactions and feedback to the message. This feature has been around for a long time on other social networks such as Twitter and Telegram, and now it is going to come to WhatsApp in the next update.

In the beta version of WhatsApp for the desktop, a picture of how to send feedback for messages is obtained, which shows that it is possible to choose the appropriate reaction from several waves. The user can also observe the reaction of other people in the group to his message, just as other messengers do.

Functional features

Another feature that the WhatsApp team is developing is the redesign of the contact page, which was also reported last week. In the beta of version 22.5.0.70, the in-app call interface has been changed. However, these events have only occurred in the beta version at the moment, and the situation may change slightly in the official update of this program.

In redesigning the appearance of the voice call, the sound waves are instantly displayed to the voice of both users. Sound wave design has recently been applied to voice messages and will be extended to voice calls in the near future.

This change lets you know in group calls exactly who is talking or who needs to turn off their microphone to get rid of extra annoying noises. Apparently, the problem of annoying noises in group calls has been so annoying and frequent that WhatsApp has taken action to solve this problem.

Functional features

In addition to these functional features, WhatsApp has designed a background image for voice calls, which in this beta version can not be replaced. The official update of the program may include the ability to replace the background image with the user’s desired photo.

But new WhatsApp features do not end there, and the app development team is creating links for voice calls. That way, if you send this link to someone, he or she can join the call by opening this link. This feature has the same functionality as the group link and can be shared with anyone – even those who are not on your contact list.

In addition, another new shortcut will be installed to quickly manage the privacy settings of statuses. This shortcut is currently in beta for Android and will probably be available for iOS as well soon.
