When will Samsung and Xiaomi phones get Android 14?

Although Google officially released Android 14 at the beginning of October, many eligible Android devices have not yet received this version. In recent years, the company has done its best to close the gap between the release of the latest version of Android to its own Pixel phones and those of third-party partners, but still, in 2023, the gap is still there. Samsung
Samsung started rolling out a stable build of its Android 14 skin, called One UI 6, at the end of October. With the company offering four generations of OS updates for many of its recent devices, older phones like the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy A32 won’t miss out on Android 14 either. Samsung has already updated a significant portion of its recent phone lineup, starting with its latest flagships. Given the company’s speed in rolling out updates, most eligible Galaxy phones may receive the new Android before 2024.


As noted by 9to5Google, the Galaxy S23 series was the first phone to receive Android 14 in October. It was followed by the S22 and S21 series in late November, as well as foldable phones including the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. Mid-range phones like A54 5G, A53, A34 5G and A24 also got the update in November. So far in December, we’ve seen the Android 14 / One UI 6 update rolling out to the A52s, A14 LTE, A33 and M33.


The update for Z Fold 4, Z Fold 3, Z Flip 4 and Z Flip 3 has not been released yet, but a Samsung executive said that they too will receive it in December. Also, mid-range phones such as Galaxy A72, A52, A14, M53 5G and rugged XCover 6 Pro are expected to be equipped with this new version in December.


Models expected to get Android 14 in January include the A23 5G, A13, A04s, M23 5G and M13.

Xiaomi
Outside of Google, Xiaomi was one of the first OEMs to release a stable version of Android 14 to its users. As of this writing, MIUI 14, which is based on the latest version of Google’s operating system, is available on the Xiaomi 13 Pro, 13 and 12T.


Unfortunately, those with older Xiaomi phones may have to wait a while for MIUI 14 to arrive. A Xiaomi spokesperson said: “The exact time for updating older Xiaomi devices to Android 14 is not available at this time. Please wait for the next news about this issue.
