Which features have been added to WhatsApp?



Owned by Meta, the platform has added a number of useful features big and small over the past few months. “Meta” company has strong motivations to develop WhatsApp messaging features. Although WhatsApp had more than two billion active users last year, Telegram is developing rapidly with 700 million monthly active users.

1- Sending high quality photos



Meta has finally activated an option that allows users to send high-definition (HD) images directly to WhatsApp to preserve image quality and detail. Now users can send high quality photos on WhatsApp from both Android and iOS devices. The new HD button sits at the top of the sharing screen, alongside other image editing tools like rotate and add text and stickers to photos.

When the user clicks on the HD button, a window will appear that allows him to select the image quality. By default, standard quality is selected. WhatsApp announced that this choice was made to ensure the speed and reliability of photo sharing. But now users can check the HD quality of the photo. After sending the photo, recipients will see the photo with an HD label in the bottom left of the photo, letting them know that a high-quality image has been shared. All photos are protected by WhatsApp end-to-end encryption. Support for sending HD videos has also been added to WhatsApp.

 

2- Instant video messages



Users can reply to the message with a short video on WhatsApp. This brand new feature allows users to send short videos while chatting with friends and family, which adds a new chat experience to WhatsApp. WhatsApp users just need to press and hold the button to record a video message. Videos are automatically played in silent mode so that the user has the right opportunity to hear the sound and turn on the sound with one tap. Video messages, like instant text messages on WhatsApp, are encrypted to add a layer of privacy.

 

3- Muting unknown callers



WhatsApp allows those users who are tired of receiving calls from unknown people to automatically mute calls from unknown numbers for increased privacy. Users can now enable the option to block anonymous calls to avoid unwanted voice and video calls from unknown people.

 

4- Editing messages



Hastily sent a message on WhatsApp and want to fix it? Now you can do it on WhatsApp. This platform allows users to edit text messages on WhatsApp. However, a text message can only be edited within 15 minutes of sending it, and once a message has been edited, it will be labeled “edited” to let recipients know that the content of the message has changed, but the changes that It will not be shown to them.

 

5- Safe private chats



WhatsApp now supports Chat Lock. In this way, users can lock down certain chats that can only be accessed with authentication. This adds an extra layer of privacy, especially for those who may have to share their cell phone with other people.
