Xiaomi wants to be the world’s top smartphone maker by 2024

Xiaomi held a big event in China yesterday to unveil its latest products, but in addition to introducing these devices, Xiaomi CEO and founder “Lee Joon” claimed that the company will become the largest smartphone maker in the world in three years.

Xiaomi briefly overtook Apple a few months ago to become the second largest mobile phone brand in the world. But the Chinese are not even satisfied with the second place and want to be the first brand in the world. Thus According to Xiaomi’s future plansOver the next three years, the company wants to overtake Apple and Samsung to become the world’s largest smartphone maker.

Will Xiaomi become the largest phone manufacturer in 2024?

This is not the first time Xiaomi has made such a claim. Less than two months ago, Lu Weibing, Xiaomi’s senior vice president for China and general manager of Redmi, posted on Weibo that Xiaomi’s future goals were outlined. Weibing had hinted that Lee Joon wanted Xiaomi to become the world’s largest smartphone maker by 2024.

Because 70 percent of smartphones in China are sold through physical stores, the company wants to reach 30,000 retail stores in China within the next three years, according to Weibing. Weibing also pointed out that the company did not target a specific brand and focused on building products that would challenge all major brands.

Lee Joon

Now Lee Joon has made the same claim as Redmi’s general manager, but one can not be sure of that claim. Although the Chinese have been able to experience staggering growth in a relatively short period of time, Apple and Samsung will not be unemployed until 2024.

Along with its flagship and high-end handsets, Samsung has focused more on economical products than ever before, and Apple has increased the number of iPhones it makes to attract more users. In addition, Xiaomi, like Huawei, may be sanctioned by the US government in the future and may not be able to achieve its goals. However, it remains to be seen what strategy the Chinese have in defeating Samsung and Apple over the next three years.

The company yesterday unveiled the Xiaomi 12 series handsets with the MIUI 13 user interface as well as the Watch S1 smartwatch, which is expected to be available in the global market in the future.
