Yazdanpanah: Japan put Iran in a tight spot under the pretext of bubble – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency and quoting the Volleyball Federation, Masoud Yazdanpanah, a retired Iranian referee, said about his first experience as a technical observer of the 22nd Asian Men’s Championship: “I participated in 16 matches as a technical observer.”

Expressing his satisfaction with the performance of the Asian Confederation officials in Chiba, Japan, he added: “Asian officials evaluated my performance well and considered special attention to the conditions of the competition as a prominent point of my activity.”

The retired international referee of Iranian volleyball, however, strongly complained about Japan hosting the 21st Cup and said: “Japan’s hosting conditions were not standard and acceptable at all.” We had several meetings with the President of the Japan Volleyball Federation, and in addition we expressed our written and verbal objections to the President of the Japan Volleyball Federation in writing and orally, but he did not pay much attention to the problems.

He continued: “For this reason, these negligences were reported to the Asian Volleyball Confederation, and the AVC also claimed in response that it was only concerned about the cancellation of the tournament due to the spread of the corona and was trying to obtain the Japanese government’s opinion so as not to prevent the tournament.”

Yazdanpanah, expressing regret over Japan’s behavior and hosting, pointed to the flight time of the national team to the country and continued: The Iranian national team will fly to Iran tomorrow night at 22:00, but must leave the hotel at 11:00 tomorrow morning. This issue was accompanied by Iran’s protest, so much so that this morning, as a member of the Control Committee, I strongly protested against the current situation, and this protest was accepted, until finally the check of the Iran Team Hotel was changed to 2:00 PM.

He added: “On the other hand, the host has concluded the contract for holding the competitions in such a way that the hosting costs will be covered by the participants themselves.” Maybe they are also interested in the income of the matches, so on each request, they ask for a fee, which, of course, the Iranian team has objected to and blocked in several cases.

The technical observer of the Asian Championship, stating that the Iranian national team was under double pressure in the Asian Championship, said: Japan did not want Iran to become a champion. But with the national team winning this period of competition, we will forget the bad memories of Japan. Because the Japanese put us in a tight spot under the pretext of the bubble, and their behavior is by no means justifiable.

The 22nd round of the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship, which started on September 12 in Chiba, hosted by Japan, ended today (Sunday) with the victory of the Iranian national volleyball team.
