Famous Syrian actor dies + photo

According to Fars News Agency, quoted by the news network RT Arabic, “Mohammad Al-Shamat”, the famous Syrian actor, died today at the age of 85. This actor was known as “Abu Reiah” because of his role in the series “Good Morning”.

Al-Shamat was born in 1936 and began his career in the theater. He was one of the first to join the Syrian National Theater, then went to television and from there to the cinema.

He had acted in many series, including “Hara al-Qasr”, “Wadi al-Musk”, “Tarabish”, “Mazad Alani”, “Al-Khawali” and “Hara Hara al-Taqtiya”.

“Abu Riyah” was honored in 2018 by the Syrian Ministry of Culture for 60 years of artistic work.
