“Good Neighbors” talks openly about problems/ introducing subjects that have no media

According to Fars News Agency’s Radio and TV reporter, “Sometimes a good person borrows from a good neighbor” is the slogan of the latest production of the Surah Documentary Center called “Good Neighbors” directed by Mehdi Bakhshi Moghaddam and produced by Mehdi Shamhammadi, which aired on Channel 2 from August 29. It has been televised.
This 22-episode documentary series, which has a different narrative of people’s lives in each episode, tells the story of people who live near us and prefer the betterment of their kind over everything.
As this documentary series reached the halfway point, in the twelfth episode, the life story of “Mobeen Baloch”, one of the Baluchistan youths, was narrated, who played a prominent role in introducing the province of Sistan and Baluchistan, especially the city of Chabahar, as a travel destination. Three years ago, he started a challenge hashtag called #Baluchistan_is_safe_to correct the wrong mentality that exists about Sistan and Baluchistan.
The broadcast of “Good Neighbors” was an excuse to have a short conversation with director Mehdi Bakshi Moghadam, which you will read below.
At the beginning, he pointed out that at a time when the conditions for living have become difficult, it is very necessary to produce hopeful programs to create a good situation, he said: the remarkable point of “good neighbors” here is that it does not act like a home and is a false hope. It doesn’t give, but it tries to make people feel better by showing a series of problems and events and what people do. In this situation, we need to produce collections that can share the good mood with their audience.
The director of “Good Neighbors” stated that perhaps this documentary series is one of the first projects that talks about the problems openly and openly, and said: “In some parts of this project, which was filmed in Sistan and Baluchistan province, we have seen fuel collection, lack of ID card. that despite this problem, girls cannot go to school and… we talked and narrated the lives of people who are trying to improve the situation.
Bakhshi Moghadam added: Also, in one of the episodes of “Good Neighbors”, we talked openly about the conditions of Shush neighborhood in Tehran, but we depicted a part of the life of “Honorable Takhejm” who founded a school for children who were injured and left out of education. We tried to show that there are problems, but alongside these problems, people are seen and their work is valued because they try to change difficult conditions into better conditions for living.
He stated that there are very attractive subjects in the provinces and their number is more than the people who live in Tehran. They have, no one has paid attention to them and they have not been seen. In this situation, the documentary maker feels that he is doing something different and becomes the voice of those who did not have media until now. This is a valuable topic for the creator of a work.
The director of “Good Neighbors” added: “All the subjects of “Good Neighbors” have common experiences because of what they do. On the other hand, each of them has emotional and personal reasons for what they do, including the fact that some of them tried to create conditions for their children and those around them because of their past experiences, that is, the facilities that did not exist in their place of residence and they were deprived of it. to ensure that the same experience is not repeated for them.
Bakhshi-Moghadam emphasized: We have not introduced our heroes like this before, but we tried to have a different look at the heroes of the people in this series who do small things for the greater and collective good and share in it.
He said about the cooperation with the Surah Documentary Center: One of the most interesting parts of this documentary series was the cooperation with the Surah Documentary Center because they supported us in the production and post-production process and supported us during the broadcasting of the work, informing the audience and advertising. . It is necessary to say that the director and producer Mehdi Shamhammadi of the documentary center of Surah Man was not less, if not more compassionate.
In the end, Bakhshi Moghadam said about his activities these days: Mehdi Shamhammadi and I made another long documentary this year, which I hope will be accepted and screened at the “Truth Cinema” festival. We are also thinking of making the second season of “Good Neighbors” because we got good feedback from the audience.
