Hispan TV on the eve of 11 years old / Zolfaghari: We follow the anti-imperialist media mission

Fars News Agency – Radio and Television Group: Today, more than half a billion people in the world speak Spanish, and launching a network for the Islamic Republic of Iran that can communicate with this number of audiences is of particular importance.
To fill this gap, Hispan TV, the overseas deputy director of the Radio and Television, officially went on the air in February 2011 to tell the Latin American people, who have a long history of fighting arrogance and imperialism, the facts of world events by the media affiliated with the domination system. Are suppressed, reveal.
Shahram Zolfaghari is the editor of Hispan TV Newsroom, also known as Newsroom, which started its activities in this network from the very first days of its establishment. The following is an interview with him on the occasion of the network entering its 11th year:
** Mr. Zolfaghari, tell us about how you entered the Hispan TV network.
– I studied Spanish translation at the Azad University of Tehran, and my collaboration with Hispan began in 1989, and I am currently working as the editor of Newsroom.
** What are the duties of Newsroom Editor in your network?
– The duty of the content editor is to supervise the work of preparing news and news reports and setting news priorities based on network policies and current world developments. The editor also plays an important role in direct communication with the broadcast, especially when covering live events and analytical programs.
** Many channels in the world speak Spanish, what is the difference between Hispan TV and other Spanish language channels?
– Hispan TV tries to convey the news facts as it is and is among the alternative media. For example, to convey facts related to Iran, such as the nuclear talks and events such as the Yemeni war and the occupation of Afghanistan, differently from the mainstream media. In Latin America, too, it pursues an anti-imperialist and anti-domination media mission. In addition, informing in the field of religion and introducing Islam to the audience is another mission of Hispan TV.
** Do you think Hispan TV has been successful in carrying out the missions you mentioned in Latin America?
–In the conditions of competition or media war, Iran should definitely be active in the media, including in countries where the domination system considers itself as its backyard. Of course, the population and multiplicity of Spanish-speaking countries also increases the importance of the issue, and that Spanish is now recognized as the second language of the United Nations and is also considered a second language in the United States, and fortunately the influence of this network so far It has been good and successful.
** Can this network play a role in the country’s economic development or increase exports to the Latin region?
Certainly, accurate information about the conditions of the countries covered by the network is effective in gaining the trust of politicians and their officials and can pave the way for the development of relations in various fields, including economics. The attention of political figures from Spanish-speaking Latin American countries to Hispan TV and conducting various interviews with them at critical moments and even their presence on the network when traveling to Iran shows the influence of Hispan TV.
** Is this network able to compete with powerful competitors such as CNN, RT and BBC, etc.?
Certainly there is inequality in terms of hardware facilities and budget, but from the point of view of different coverage of events and special attention to the events that the Western hub media, especially the news of the powers that be, Hispan has had a successful activity, which has angered the domination system. And Hispanics have been repeatedly targeted for the unjust and unconstitutional actions they claim. Closing YouTube channels and user accounts on Twitter and Google networks and even blocking frequencies and sanctions on cable channels are among these measures and show the correctness of our network media path.
** What tools do you think Hispan TV needs to strengthen and improve its programs?
– It must be admitted that in general, despite many years of activity in the country and among officials and even within the organization, the Deputy Foreign Minister has remained a little oppressed and is not given the attention it deserves. More communication between foreign officials and in particular Hispan TV with officials in different sectors can help to be more effective in the field of information and strengthen programming in line with the general policies of the system. Although network officials and employees make the greatest effort to improve the quality of work output, there is a need for more interaction and attention from different devices.
** Do you have a bittersweet or sweet memory of working on Hispan TV?
– I think the coverage of the news of Sardar Soleimani’s martyrdom was one of the most bitter events in the field of media, including on Hispan TV, and the wide and appropriate coverage and timely coverage of important events in the Middle East and Latin America are good memories.
