Iranian cinematographer’s film at the closing of the Edinburgh festival

The Edinburgh International Film Festival in Scotland announced that the film “Fremont” by Iranian cinematographer Babak Jalali will be the finale of this festival.
Charso Press: According to the official website of the Edinburgh Festival, in this film, Anahita Valizadeh, a former Afghan TV presenter, in her first appearance in front of the camera, plays the role of a 20-year-old refugee named Danya, who after previously working as a translator in the US Army has fled from Afghanistan.
Dunya’s character is torn between the desire to build a new life in California, where he works in a candy factory, and on the other hand, his past and guilt, living in a limbo and ambiguous world.
This film was previously screened at the Sundance Film Festival in America and was praised. Iranian film director Babak Jalali was born in Gorgan but lives in London and graduated from the London Film School.
The full line-up for the Edinburgh Festival will be announced next week. The new period of this movie event will be held from August 18 to 23 (August 27 to September 1).
