Phoenix’s new film became the main winner of the Cambridge Film Festival

“Yala Yala”, the latest film by Joaquin Phoenix, won the main prize at the Polish Cambridge Film Festival.

Theater News Base: The 2021 Camera Film Festival, which is held every year to honor the best cinematography, awarded its main prize this year to “Yala Yala” or “Come Come” starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Last night (Saturday), after holding a week of seminars and film events in honor of the art of filmmaking, the festival presented its Golden Frog to “Yala Yala” filmmaker Robbie Ryan.

Filmed in black and white and written and directed by Mike Mills, the film tells the story of a radio reporter who travels to American cities with his 9-year-old nephew Jesse.

Ryan, who was praised at the festival for “precise and humble eyes” and “cinema that touches the soul”, described the film as a “small film” formed by a small group during the Covid epidemic. He also won the Festival Audience Award.

At the festival, Joel Cohen’s “Macbeth Tragedy” won the Silver Frog Award for its filming of Bruno Delbonell, and its images were hailed by the jury as “captivating minimalists.”

“The Dune,” directed by Danny Villeneuve and directed by Greg Fraser, won the Bronze Frog. Villeneuve’s directing was also honored at the festival.

In the competition section of the documentary “My Voice Will Be With You”, which was filmed by Tristan Galland and directed by Bruno Truck, won the main prize. This film is about the doctors of St. Luke’s Hospital in Brussels who perform significant activities in the field of hypnosis.

German filmmaker Jost Wakano was also honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The festival was concluded by festival director Mark Zidovich, who cited the death of cinematographer Halina Hatchimz, who was killed in a Western shooting accident in New Mexico last month, as “the only criterion for employment in the film industry”. Zangar was killed by Alec Baldwin.

The festival ended with “There Is No Time to Die” directed by Kerry Fuji Fukunaga and Oscar-winning cinematographer Linus Sandgren.

This year, the 29th Camerimage Festival was held from November 13 to 20 in Troni, Poland.
