“Release Me” narrates a family and love story that dates back to the 1350s. Tell us about the stages of formation of the idea of ​​narrating this story at such a time.

After the “I want to survive” series, where I was the head of the screenwriters, the Filmo platform was interested in continuing this collaboration, and this platform had a number of approved scripts that were interested in working on these works, and they offered me to choose one of these scripts for work. do I chose one of the texts titled “Tutia” and 26 episodes were written by Sina Shafi’i, but the story of “Tutia” was narrated in the present tense and we decided to take the story to the 50s. Together with Mr. Shafiei, we took the story to the past and because we had the experience of “I want to survive” which was set in the 60s, we decided to take this series to the 50s.

Why did you choose this time?

The fact is that the context of time does not play a key role in the drama “Let Me Go”. We follow some ordinary people in this series.

Historical series are usually made with government funding, and in these works, TV directors are interested in considering certain approaches such as the revolution and other political issues, and these works were less of an issue for ordinary people. Before the platforms entered the field of production of theatrical works, there was no non-governmental investment for the production of historical works, and it can be said that almost all historical works have a more colorful political aspect. With the activity of the platforms, the opportunity was provided for us to refer to history without a political approach and narrate the stories of ordinary people in the past.

But a series that could be narrated in the present tense would definitely cost you less.

We added relationships like master and serf to the series, and in the first version, instead of the khans, the characters told stories about the grandfather and grandmother, and they played this role, and considering that in the “I want to survive” series, they experienced the 60s. My suggestion was to take the story to the time before the revolution.

This time has several features, first of all, since the story takes place in the village, we did not worry much about the scene design, and the other point was that considering the nostalgic atmosphere of the village and the past, we felt that this feature could be used to make the series more attractive. Going to the fifties did not cost much to us compared to the sixties, and I must say that the entry of the private sector and the activities of the platforms are more open to the producers, and if they recognize some points as important and correct without having to consider the limitations, proposals in the direction Improvements in quality are welcome.

It is easier to go to famous people in the distant past than to go to ordinary people. How was the discovery of the characteristics, the insides of people and the details of life in the 1350s considering how it happened half a century after that era?

With the advancement of technology, many complications have arisen in human life; In my opinion, our social relationships, relationships and internal concerns have become complicated, and maybe these complications are not interesting at all, but it is impossible to avoid them today. This situation has caused simplicity, honesty, etc. to fade in our lives. I have received interesting feedback from the audience of the “Release Me” series; Many people tell me that the place of this honesty, uniformity, brotherhood and even this pure love is empty in today’s lives, and I must say that by the way, dealing with these issues is one of my personal interests.

I think; We should not only forget these values, which were more colorful in the past, but we should also try to strengthen them in different ways, such as creating works of art. Unfortunately, despite the benefit of technology, our social and living conditions have become more complex, economic and self-interested, and we see less moral values ​​such as friendship, honesty, love, self-sacrifice, etc., and camaraderie has faded. I think that when we look back, people don’t have the sophistication of today and they are more straight forward.

Did you consider using nostalgia to attract the audience?

We Iranians think about the past more than we think about the future and we like to review the past. Almost all of us have a nostalgic feeling for the past and miss the past, and when we ask ourselves what is the reason for this regret, we have no answer except that the past was more interesting. We used this feature in “I Want to Survive” and “Let Me Go” to make it more interesting. I think; We Iranians like to separate from the present and go to the past world.

Having said that, can the main audience of “Release Me” be considered a generation that has reached middle age today?

No, we tried to attract young audiences. For example, Mohsen Chavoshi’s single is an example of this effort because we know that his fans are from this generation. Maybe people who have reached middle age today can connect more with this series, but I see among the audience of “Release Me” young people who follow this series seriously. Anyway, living in a culture can create a connection with its past for us, and I think referring to a relatively distant past is also attractive for young people, because they have at least understood the atmosphere of that era from the definitions of their fathers and mothers.

Usually, the series of the home TV network try to attract the attention of the audience by relying on stories and consecutive events, but the story of “Leave me” is a little slow.

Some critics were of the opinion that this series moves a little slowly, but I must say that this slow rhythm was intentional because I believe that in the series, I consider the character to be the priority of the story, and I think that the treatment of the character and the challenges that are placed in different situations in the series makes it last longer. In fact, the opinion of the critics regarding the story of the series, that some believed that the story starts a little late, was related to the first episodes, but since the main plot of the story has been formed, I think the rhythm of the work has become faster and the audience has been able to connect with the work.

You produced several series on TV. Do you see more space to address different topics in the home show network?

We did not feel any disturbance from Satra, they had seen eleven episodes of the series, they insisted to watch the series in its entirety before airing but unfortunately it was not possible for us. Due to the fact that 10 episodes of this series have been aired until today and all the episodes have been reviewed by Satra before the airing, we have not had any problems with the audit until today and only a few small examples of this series have been corrected, which did not harm the story. did not enter the original
