Secretary of Fajr Theater Radio Festival: The chosen ones of Fajr Theater Festival will have a public performance

According to Fars News Agency’s Radio and Television reporter, Amin Rahbar, the secretary of the Radio Theater Department of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival, answered the question of how many years Radio Theater has been working in Radio Javan’s “Tamashakhane” program yesterday. The theater started working in Fajr Festival since 2005, but it was in 1391 or 1392 to 1397 that it was closed according to the wishes of some managers of Waqf Radio Show, the General Department of Performing Arts and the decision-makers of Fajr Festival.
The leader continued: When Mr. Burhani Marand accepted the secretaryship of Fajr Festival in 2017, he revived this section in Fajr Festival. From 2017 to this year, Fajr Festival has been seriously following the radio theater sector. This year, 83 works were sent, most of which were from provincial centers.
*Radio show is one of the first types of radio programming
The secretary of the radio theater department of the 42nd Fajr International Theater Festival stated that about seven works were from Tehran and the rest were from the provinces, and added: Radio show is one of the first types of radio programming and due to its storytelling and dramatic dimension, it has the most impact on the audience.
In response to the question of whether he had thought about this, Amin Rahbar added: Yes, now Mr. Sohani, the manager of Radio Show, had many consultations with several theater owners. After the Fajr festival, the chosen ones of the festival are supposed to have a public performance. But the groups should be supported and it is not enough to just take the hall and leave the ticket sales to the groups. We need to support the groups financially.
* Performing arts, theater and radio theater have sponsor and audience
In response to the question whether we can do collaborative work in the radio theater or radio show sector and attract support, he explained: This requires a continuous effort and mutual support. Both from the person who wants to be a sponsor, and from the person who wants to make the sponsor happy. The category of performing arts, theater and radio theater has a sponsor and audience crisis. For this reason, government support should be provided in these sectors first, so that we can convince the private sectors to come to this kind of implementation.
The secretary of the radio theater department of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival, in response to the question of whether young people are attracted to these areas, said: the radio show has its own stable position and continues its path with strength. The category of radio theater is derived from radio and theater shows and is considered an emerging genre. It is possible that radio theater is not popular among the public. But the Fajr festival from 2005 until now has shown that this emerging genre has its own audience.
He explained that even though the radio theater wants to have a public performance and satisfy the public audience, it has not been tried yet, he explained: except in the period when radio drama professors like Mr. Burhani Marand, the late Shajareh and… They put it on and I heard that the public has welcomed such performances, after that Radio Theater was dedicated to festivals, and Fajr Festival and the Department of Performing Arts of Radio Tutoli were like this.
The leader stated about the crisis of theater audiences: Although the price of tickets is the right of theater groups, it is somewhat expensive for the middle class and employees, and all these factors work together to face the audience crisis.
The other part of the program was dedicated to the Ardibehesht Festival, and Mahdia Ghorbani, a student of dramatic literature at Damghan University Faculty of Arts and the secretary of the sixth edition of Ardibehesht Theater Festival, said about this festival: Ardibehesht Theater Festival is a nationwide festival that is hosted by Damghan University Art Faculty every year. Different students from all over the country can participate in this festival.
Ghorbani continued: Ardibehesht festival is the only festival that is held in the city and it operates nationwide in the field of student theater. The 6th national course of Ardibehesht theater was held in person at Damghan University from 31 May 1401 to 4 June this year, and the secretariat of the festival received 370 works in various sections of stage theater, alternative theater, playwriting and radio show. The stage and alternative section was held in person and the other sections were judged and evaluated virtually.
