Sepah Mansour: I was not invited for the second and third seasons of “Nun Kh” / The story of appearing in “Mom’s Guest”

Fars News Agency – Radio and Television Group: Farideh Sepah, Mansour Rangineh Kamani has some lasting and memorable roles in her acting career. His wonderful games in serials such as Aghik, House in the Dark, Imam Ali (AS), Rebellion, Lost Innocence, and films such as Mommy’s Guest, Lizard, Law Book, The Other’s Father, etc. It has remained in the minds of TV and cinema audiences. Sepah ‌ Mansour plays the role of Mehlaqa, the mother-in-law of Noureddin Khanzadeh in the series “Nun Kh”.

The veteran actor emphasizes that he enjoyed playing with young and lesser-known actors in the series, and basically one of the reasons for his acting in “Noon Kh” was the presence of these actors. Sepah ‌ Mansour points out that his Kurdish accent in the movie “Mom’s Guest” directed by Dariush Mehrjoui was a significant help to him in playing the role of Maholqa in the series “Nun Kh” and regaining his accent. The actor of “Nun Kh” series considers the remoteness of the space of this play from the apartment as one of the other reasons for its attractiveness and emphasizes that the presence of young and unknown actors and figures has also had an impact on the people’s reception of this series. He also believes that Mahlaqa’s character had more work to do in terms of characterization, and that this role could have been more prominent in the story.

IFilm network has the series “Nun Kh” directed by Saeed Agakhani on its air tonight. On the same pretext, we had a conversation with Farideh Sepah-Mansour, who plays the role of Mehlaqa in this fascinating and popular play. Saeed Agakhani, Ali Sadeghi, Hamidreza Azarang, Pasha Jamali, Kazem Nourbakhsh, Sirus Meymant, Sehba Sharafati, Neda Ghasemi, Nasrin Moradi, Hedyeh Bazvand and Seyed Ali Salehi are the other actors in this series.

** Ms. Sepah Mansour, are you a viewer of the replay of the series “Nun Kh” on iFilm?

– Yes, although I have seen the whole series before, I am also watching the replay.

** How were the reactions and feedback of the audience towards the series?

-Since I am not a member of any of the social networks, I am not very aware of people’s feedback and I do not know if they are satisfied with the series or not. Of course, I usually read people’s opinions that are subtitled in iFilm. In general, I think people liked the series, especially since it was not limited to Tehran and its people. Like the series “Capital” whose story took place in the north and its heroes were the people of Mazandaran.

“Nun Kh” was also welcomed for filming in Kurdistan and its local characters. Of course, I heard some viewers criticize the “Noon Kh” series, why are you clinging to sunflower seeds from all these Kurdish products? However, considering the comedy content of the series, it is natural for them to go to people and products that do not hit anyone and there is no slander.

** What were the attractions of the role of Mehlaqa that you played in the series?

– It was interesting for me to be able to play with a group of lesser-known young actors who are active in their own province. The theme and story of the series was also very good.

** You also played the role of an old Kurdish woman in the movie “Mom’s Guest” before the series “Nun Kh”. Incidentally, you spoke Kurdish very well there as well. Naturally, you did not have a problem with accent in “Noon Kh” either. It is true?

– In the guest film, Mr. Mehrjoui’s mother insisted that I speak in a Kurdish accent and emphasized that they wanted the role with this accent. A young female student who had come to Tehran from Kermanshah to study was supposed to teach me a Kurdish accent. This lady told me all my dialogues and I recorded it. It took me more than a month to be able to translate my dialogues into Kurdish well, but more than the accent, I learned the Kurdish accent song and it stuck in my mind. When I was saying my dialogues, Mr. Mehrjoui was surprised and said that you speak in a very thick Kurdish accent and we should go for a subtitle, reduce the concentration of the accent a little. In the end, I said my dialogues in Persian, but because it had a Kurdish song, everyone thought I was really Kurdish. I wanted to be a Kurd who speaks Persian. Accents should not be insulted. I did my best and I think the result was good. In the series “Nun Kh”, although I was fluent in Kurdish accent, we practiced a little with Mr. Sirus Meymant.

** You play the role of a midwife in the series “Nun Kh”. Have you had the experience of playing such a role in your previous work?

– No, I was not a midwife in a movie or series before and I had never experienced such a role.

** Wouldn’t you like the presence of Mehlaqa to continue in the next series of “Nun Kh” series? Do you think this character had no more work to do?

– I was not invited for the second and third series. Of course, the second and third series of the series were filmed in Kermanshah, and there is also a cold region. It was difficult for me. Put Corona aside, I have not accepted city work in recent years. It is no longer in my ability. Maybe because they knew I was not going to the city, they did not invite me for the second and third series.

** As the mother of Noureddine and the grandmother of her daughters, Mahlaqa does not have much involvement in the marriage of her grandchildren and does not oppose marrying them to grooms who are not very suitable?

You should ask this to Mr. Vafaei, the author of the series. He had not dealt with the character of Mehlaqa as he should and perhaps did. In my opinion, the characterization of Mehlaqa was not complete.

** In your opinion, what are the strengths of the series “Nun Kh” that was able to attract the attention of the audience and be one of the most watched works on TV?

Due to payment to Iranian ethnicities. On the other hand, the space of this series was outside the apartment and that was attractive to the audience. The viewer could see beautiful scenery and new actors and people. According to a colleague, these days the actors of TV series have been proven and they are going to that project from the beginning of this series. The faces are duplicated. Many of the actors in “Noon Kh” were young and among the actors of Kermanshah and Kurdistan provinces. These actors, who were unknown but had a high level of quality, seemed attractive to people. People said that these actors are unknown, but how good they are. The comedy series was also fascinating.

** How fascinating was it for you to work with younger, lesser-known actors who played your grandchildren?

I like working with young actors. If they are comfortable with me, I have no problem myself.

** How was the collaboration with Saeed Aga Khani an experience?

– I had previously worked with Mr. Agakhani in the series “Residential Complex”. It was a good experience.

** What are you doing these days?

– After 17 months of not working, I am playing in the series “Khoshnam” directed by Mr. Najafzadeh.
