According to Fars News Agency’s urban correspondent, Ahmad Sadeghi, a member of the Tehran City Council, stated in a note provided to Fars News Agency: 115 years ago, on this day, the Municipality of Tehran was established. An institution that citizens deal with in their daily lives from morning to evening, and the inherent duty of the Bedouin of Tehran, which we know today as the Municipality of Tehran, is to provide services to citizens.
The municipality is a non-governmental organization and finances its actions from the citizens’ tolls, while during these years the city has expanded and a lot of costs have been imposed due to the fact that Tehran is the capital, and on the other hand, governments They did not pay the credits that were required by law to provide services to citizens.
In recent years, we have seen that the share of municipalities in air revenues, such as VAT, which has not been increased, has been reduced, which means that in addition to the existing economic conditions, the municipality has been deprived of these credits to provide services.
In addition, the costs that are imposed on the capital due to the lack of unified and integrated urban management should be considered, while all measures should be under the banner of unified management.
However, with these economic conditions, the Tehran Municipality and its employees have not neglected any of their duties, because the Tehran Municipality family has made a covenant with the citizens.
We have seen an example of this fulfillment of the promise in more than two years of the outbreak of coronavirus, where many institutions were closed to cut the virus transmission chain, but the employees of Tehran Municipality were present every pandemic because the municipality was not closed.
It is also a matter of pride for the large family of the municipality that they do not miss a day, hour or minute of providing services to the citizens and always keep their promise.
During this long life, employees have been the main pillar of the municipality. Managers who have taken human dignity into account in their managerial behavior have enjoyed greater success in serving the people, and how well they performed the worship of God, which, according to Sheikh Ajal Saadi, “worship is nothing but the service of the people.”
The anniversary of the establishment of Tehran Municipality is a day to remember that in the worst conditions, there are people who work day and night in the city, some on flooded days eliminate flooding of roads, some decorate the green space of the city, some clean and go around the city Some are self-sacrificing, and some are moving citizens on the public transport fleet in the worst of the coronavirus outbreak.
