The works of “Young Composers” became an album


According to Fars News Agency, the selected works of the “Young Composers” call for the publication of Petricor Music were published.

The album includes six works for the flute solo composed by the selected “Young Composers” of Petrikor Music Publishing, performed and recorded by the newborn farmer Clarise and the project’s art consultant. In this album, works by Kamyar Behbahani, Peyman Salehian, Ata Ghavidel, Farzan Salsabili, Arshan Najafi and Ali Sadeghi can be heard. Amin Sharifi, composer and director of Petricor Music Publishing, is the artistic director of the project.

In the summer of 1399, Petricor Music Publishing invited composers under the age of thirty-five living in Iran to submit their works to the publishing house for solo flute instruments. Interested parties in two age groups (up to 25 years, and up to 35 years) participated in this call. Out of a total of 86 works received for the call of young composers, 12 works made it to the second stage. The 12 composers who made it to the second stage were given a two-month opportunity to participate in private and group meetings to revise their work and send the final version for second stage judging. Subsequently, 6 works were selected for performance, recording and publication by Clarice Keshavarz and Petricor Music Publishing. In the final stage and after the performance of 6 selected works of the second stage, the two final selected works received a cash prize of three million Tomans from Petrikor Music Publishing.

According to the announcement of the works selection group; “Reza Vali”, “Arshia Samsaminia”, “Klariz Keshavarz” and “Amin Sharifi”, in group A (composers under twenty-five years), “Arshan Najafi” born in 2001, “Farzan Salsbili” born in 1998 and “Ali Sadeghizadeh” Born in 1997 as the first to third persons and in group B (composers over twenty-five to thirty-five years), Peyman Salehian born in 1985, Kamyar Behbahani born in 1986 and Ata Ghavidel born in 1987 were introduced as the selected individuals, respectively.

The Young Composers Project Call is a training event and competition for composers under the age of 35 living in Iran, organized by Petricor Music Publishing in the United States. This event, the educational part of which lasted six months, is a continuation of the project “New Waves of Iran; Anthology of New Music in Iran for Flute “, which has started its activities since 2016 under the supervision of Petrikor Music Publishing. “New Waves of Iran” consists of the works of composers who play an important role in shaping the face of new music in Iran. In 1399, at the same time with the release of the first album of the “New Waves of Iran” project, Petrikor Music Publishing organized the “Young Composers” event. The purpose of holding this event is to create training, performance and recording conditions for young Iranian composers. The project included training classes, seminars and lectures by international composers, as well as performances and recordings of selected works. Guest composers include professors of composition at Harvard, Indiana, Berkeley, San Diego, Carnegie Mellon, and others.
