US sanctions have put the lives of “rare patients” at risk

According to Fars News Agency’s health group, Majid Takht Ravanchi, Iran’s ambassador and representative to the UN, said in his speech at the Security Council: “Unilateral coercive measures (unilateral sanctions) are international acts committed by some countries as a way of fighting the starvation of civilians.” Work goes. These illegal actions violate the UN Charter and international law.

He stressed that countries that use unilateral coercive measures, including sanctions, as government policy, should be held accountable for such crimes.

Ravanchi further referred to the US sanctions against Iran and said: “Iran has been the target of the most severe US economic and financial sanctions for decades.”

He added: “These illegal actions have directly endangered the lives of the most vulnerable population of Iran, including children, the elderly and the sick.” Even some patients, especially children with rare diseases, have lost their lives as a result of restrictions on the import of medicine and medical equipment, which is a sad fact.
