2 Iranian films were added to the Sydney Film Festival



“Hero” and “Dirt Road” will be screened at the 68th Sydney Film Festival in Australia.

Theater News Base: The 68th Sydney Film Festival, after being postponed twice due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, finally announced a full screening of 223 films, including two Iranian films, “Hero” by Asghar Farhadi and “Dirt Road” directed by Panahpanahi. Feature films were added to the screening schedule of this cinematic event.

Also, the documentary “Radiography of a Family” made by Firoozeh Khosravani on behalf of Norwegian cinema will be screened in the international documentary section.

The Sydney International Film Festival first changed its date from June to August and then to November as the global corona crisis continued. This year’s cinematic event will be held from November 3 to 21 (November 12 to 30), including 12 days of live programming and 10 days of online programming.

The Sydney Film Festival will announce a special program this year to review the works of Abbas Kiarostami, an internationally known Iranian filmmaker.

This special section, entitled “Long and winding roads: Abbas Kiarostami’s films”, includes the screening of “Life and Nothing Else”, “Alley and Bread”, “Close-up”, “Traveler”, “Where is a Friend’s House”, “Below “Olive Trees”, “The Taste of Cherry”, “The Wind Will Carry Us”, “Ten” and “In Order or Without Order” will be screened in the “Review of Abbas Kiarostami” works section of the festival.

Also previously, the film “There is no devil” by Mohammad Rasulov was selected among the accepted works in this cinematic event.
