According to Mehr News Agency, quoted by Reuters, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada issued the 12th package of sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran under the pretext of human rights violations.

Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly announced on Monday that Canada will impose additional sanctions under the provisions of special economic measures (Iran).

In the statement of the Canadian Foreign Ministry, it is claimed that today’s Ottawa sanctions have listed 7 judges for their role in the gross and systematic violation of human rights in Iran’s criminal justice system, especially the Iranian Revolutionary Courts.

In Canada’s new sanctions list, the names of Morteza Barati, judge of Isfahan Revolutionary Court, Hadi Mansouri, judge of Mashhad Revolutionary Court, Musa Asif HusseiniKaraj Revolutionary Court Judge, Seyed Mahmoud Sadati, Shiraz Revolutionary Court Judge, Mehrdad Tehmatn, Shiraz Criminal Court Counselor Judge, Mohammad Moqiseh, Tehran Revolutionary Court Judge, and Haider Asiyabi, Gorgan Revolutionary Court Judge.

This is the 12th package of sanctions that Canada has imposed against Iran since October 2022. These sanctions are based on Canada’s efforts to align with the European Union, England and the United States in action against Iran.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran also announced some time ago, according to the approvals of the relevant authorities, within the framework of related legal rules and related sanctions mechanisms, and as a countermeasure, a number of British institutions and individuals for their deliberate actions in supporting terrorism and groups It sanctions terrorism, promotion and incitement to terrorism, violence and hatred and violation of human rights.
