Macron called for the resumption of Gulf economic aid to Lebanon



According to a report by Russia Today, Macron added that he hoped his talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman would help resolve differences over Qardahi’s remarks so that he could reunite all Gulf states with Lebanon. Take their aid out of the crisis in Lebanon.

He told a news conference today (Saturday) after meeting with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani that he would also discuss regional support for Lebanon with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.

“Lebanon was part of the issues I discussed with the Emir of Qatar,” Macron added.

Macron continued: “I hope we will achieve significant results in the coming hours so that Prime Minister Najib Mikati can invite his government to advance efforts to reform the shaky economy of the country.”

Macron added that the resignation of George Qardahi will pave the way for the resumption of talks between Lebanon, Arab countries and especially Saudi Arabia.

The French president said: “The countries of the region should help Lebanon and reopen the doors of economic work with it. I have discussed this issue with the Emir of Qatar and I will also discuss it with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.”

Lebanese Information Minister George Qardahi announced his resignation yesterday, Friday, at a press conference in Beirut, calling it an opportunity to resolve the crisis caused by his remarks between Lebanon and the Gulf states.

Macron’s trip to three Gulf Arab states begins yesterday (Friday) Iran’s nuclear program and, most importantly, the conclusion of major arms and nuclear contracts have been announced.

The French president arrived in Saudi Arabia an hour ago and met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
