The strange story of demanding 64 thousand dollars for independence from Al-Wasl, UAE

According to the sports reporter of Tasnim news agency, Esteghlal football team played against Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the Asian Champions League a few seasons ago under the head coach of Farhad Majidi, a match hosted by Esteghlal in the UAE. According to the request of the technical staff, Esteghlal held a few-day camp at the camp of Al-Wasl Club of the Emirates and played in a friendly match before the match with Al-Hilal.

Esteghlal’s contract with Al-Wasl Club to host the game with Al-Hilal was 250 thousand dollars, which included the cost of the hotel and hospitality of the Al-Hilal team, the cost of renting the Al-Wasl Stadium to hold the match and training of the two teams on the day before the game, etc. This expense caused a lot of noise at the time and it was even said that the monitoring institutions have opened their eyes to this story.

Esteghlal Club will deposit 64,000 dollars as an advance payment to Al-Wasl Club’s account, and then, in consultation, ask the Asian Football Confederation to pay the cost of hosting Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia to Al-Wasl of the United Arab Emirates from its claims in AFC. The Asian Football Confederation accepts the request for independence and the above amount is transferred to Al-Wasl’s account. Esteghlal Club had paid 64 thousand dollars in advance, but this money was not returned to the club’s account. Esteghlal CEO Ali Khateer followed up on this money during his recent trip to the UAE, and when Al-Wasl managers heard about the incident, they were surprised.

Follow-ups show that at that time, Al-Wasl Club deposited 64 thousand dollars into the account of an Iranian person who worked at Al-Wasl Club, with the idea that Esteghlal had agreed with the Iranian person that the money would be deposited into his account. Esteghlal Club asked Fard Irani to return this money to the club’s account, but he claims that he spent 34,000 dollars and can only return 30,000 dollars. According to this person’s statement, Esteghlal managers have hired an Emirati lawyer to determine the debt of 64 thousand dollars.
