Xiaomi is likely to launch a 200-megapixel camera sooner than Samsung

According to a tweet published by an informed source in the market called “Ice Universe”, Xiaomi will use Samsung’s 200-megapixel ISOCELL camera in its phones in the second half of 2022. Samsung also apparently intends to add its mobile phones to this camera in 2023 Equip.

Motorola is also very interested in using a 200-megapixel camera Samsung has ISOCELL in its products. It is now said that Motorola used this camera even before Xiaomi. So by the end of 2022, Motorola will be launching a phone with a 200-megapixel camera.

Samsung introduced this lens as ISOCELL HP1. The sensor was introduced in September as the first 200-megapixel camera for smartphones. It is fascinating to see the performance of this camera in the real world. Xiaomi and Samsung have both equipped their products with a 108-megapixel camera.

The HP1 isocell is a 1.22-inch sensor with a pixel size of 0.64 micrometers. The new “ChameleonCell” technology of this sensor, based on ambient light, offers two modes of 2: 2 pixel combination or 4: 4 pixel combination. The HP1 isocell delivers the highest image resolution in the history of Samsung mobile sensor development. Samsung’s new sensors with pixel blending technology can provide better output based on ambient light.

The HP1 isocell also supports 8K video recording at 30 frames per second, as well as 4K video recording at 120 frames per second and a relatively wide field of view. Samsung has not commented on the autofocus technology used in this sensor.

In 2-by-2 pixel binning mode, this new Samsung sensor can provide 50-megapixel images with 1.28 micrometer pixels. In 4-by-4 pixel combination mode, this new Samsung sensor offers 12.5-megapixel images with a pixel size of 2.65 micrometers.
