Iran’s initial list of 25 players was sent to the Asian Football Confederation a few weeks ago and the names of the players were “registered”. From this number, 14 or 16 players will go to the Nations Cup, and in case of injury or corona virus before the start of the tournament, changes can be made in the list.
In Iran’s 25-man list, the name of Sepehr Mohammadi, Iran’s experienced futsal goalkeeper, can also be seen. Mohammadi along with Alireza Samimi were the main goalkeepers of the national team for many years. Mohammadi was last invited to the national team by Seyyed Mohammad Nazem al-Sharia for a friendly match with Italy, and after that he did not get a chance to be invited to this team due to the presence of Vahid Shamsai.
Before participating in the Asian Championship, Iran will participate in the tournament in Thailand and will leave for this country on September 17. Vahid Shamsai has included Sina Perkas and Saeed Momeni in his list for this tournament to test them before the Asian Championship. Iran’s main goalkeepers in the Asian Championship will probably be Perkas and Momeni. However, in case of need and any kind of problem, Sepehr Mohammadi may be replaced.
Another point in the national team’s list is the absence of Masoud Mohammadi, the goalkeeper of Catherine’s team. Mohammadi, who not long ago had a problem with the technical staff of Catherine’s team, lost the opportunity to be on Vahid Shamsaei’s list even though Hossein Shams, the former head coach of the national team, was the mediator.
