The Shanghai Film Festival is coming back Fars news

According to the film reporter of Fars News Agency, quoted by varietythe Shanghai International Film Festival has unveiled plans to return to an in-person event for its 25th year and 30th anniversary.
This festival was canceled last year due to severe restrictions imposed in response to the spring wave of the Covid outbreak.
Organizers confirmed on Tuesday that the 2023 festival will run from June 9 to 18.
Officials of the Shanghai International Film Festival called this period “opening up a journey and a two-way path between Chinese films and world films.”
This year’s Jinjo Awards (Golden Cup) competition will be held in five categories: Feature Film Main Competition, Asian Newcomers, Documentary, Animation and Short Film.
Organizers said they received nearly 8,800 entries from more than 128 countries and regions. Of these, about 4,500 were sent from the canceled 2022 festival. If the filmmakers decide to proceed, the 2022 applications will remain valid for 2023.
The festival will also run other components, including an educational program, a project matching event, and a metaverse segment.
