A mathematical model predicted the outcome of the World Cup

According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Newsweek, Joshua Ball, a post-doctoral researcher at Oxford University in England, invented this mathematical model to determine who will win the 2022 World Cup. He used various statistical information to build his mathematical model to determine who will win the competition.

Ball says about this: “The two factors that I looked at carefully are the one called xG, which is actually a prediction of the number of goals, and the other is a way of summarizing a football match other than points.”

According to the Oxford Mail, relying on data and using modeling skills and a little guesswork, he has invented the “Oxford World Cup 2022 Mathematical Prediction” model.

According to the modelling, which has been widely shared on Twitter, Brazil will beat Belgium in the final after beating Argentina and France in the semi-finals.

Also, England’s thirst for the trophy will not be satisfied and this country will be eliminated in the quarter final stage of the tournament.
