According to IRNA; The 2021 Asian Karate Championships in all age categories (juniors, youth, hope and adults) in kata and komite started on Saturday, hosted by Almaty, Kazakhstan, and ended today, Wednesday.
The Iranian team in all age categories and in both the boys and girls sections participated in this event.
In the end and in all age groups, the Iranian team won 14 gold, 10 silver and 15 bronze medals. The Iranian team did not perform well in the adult age category at all, and “Zabihullah Pourshib” was the only gold medalist in this category.
Kazakhstan finished runner-up with 11 gold, 8 silver and 13 bronze medals, followed by Japan with 8 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Japan, meanwhile, was not in the teens, youth and hope age categories, sending only karateka in the adult age group, where it performed brilliantly.
Iran was absent from the 2019 tournament, but also won the championship in 2017.
