Abdul Ghani: Ronaldo does not help Nasr technically

According to Tasnim news agency, signing a contract with Cristiano Ronaldo made Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nasr Club headline the world’s football news in the past few days. This club made a huge profit in terms of the number of followers in the virtual space and the sale of the shirts of the Portuguese superstar, but the Saudi football legend believes that the yellow-clads of the Saudi capital will not technically benefit from this transfer.

Hossein Abdul Ghani, in an interview conducted by the “Kura” website, said about this transfer: “The goal of recruiting Ronaldo is not technical and it is more for goals that will go beyond a game or a tournament.” We are talking about a global player. I like the process of attracting the world’s biggest stars to Saudi clubs because of the recognition of Saudi football and the improvement of its quality. However, in my opinion, Ronaldo does not add anything to Nasr from a technical point of view.

Praising the captain of the Portuguese national team, he stated: He is an excellent player and loves a challenge. It is possible that he will come and shine, but we have examples of global stars who came from the big leagues and did not succeed in Saudi Arabia. I am not talking about Ronaldo; Because he is a big international star who needs no definition.

The veteran of Saudi football, who played for eight years with Al-Nasr shirt, said about the impact of the arrival of the best scorer in the history of Real Madrid to Al-Nasr: “It is clear that Ronaldo’s arrival and whispers about the departure of Vincent Abu Bakr had a mental impact on this player. This issue was revealed in the meeting with Al-Khalij and we saw that Abu Bakr was not happy after scoring. After signing Ronaldo, Rudy Garcia (head coach of Nasr) must maintain the team’s dressing room and Nasr fans must come to the stadium with high numbers and enthusiasm.
