Abdullahi: We won Lebanon’s first medal in the games of Islamic countries

According to IRNA, Farzad Abdullahi The former Iranian taekwondo champion, who is the coach of the Lebanese national taekwondo team, managed to make this country the owner of 3 medals in the games of Islamic countries for the first time in the history of Lebanese sports.

Regarding his team’s performance in these competitions, Abdullahi told IRNA: Lebanese Taekwondo national team won three medals, including one silver and two bronze, for the first time in the games of Islamic countries. This was the first time that this country won a medal among all Lebanese sports in the games of Islamic countries.

He added: I am very happy about this incident. In total, we won a silver and a bronze medal in the women’s section and a bronze medal in the boys’ section. The conditions of Taekwondo in Lebanon are different from other countries, and the national players of this discipline in Lebanon are very busy with work and studies, and they only train once a day, and some days they don’t even show up for training. However, we were able to be proud in the games of Islamic countries. We are trying to get good results in the Arab Cup and Beirut Open competitions that will be held in a few days. On November 13 (Aban 22, 1401), we have the world championships ahead and we are trying to show our best performance.

Referring to the length of time he was in the technical staff of Lebanese Taekwondo, Abdallahi said: I started working with Lebanese Taekwondo for 9 months and during this time we won 2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals in the Arab Cup. Earlier, we won medals in various tournaments and we also won bronze in the Asian Championship. Thank God we have a growing trend and I hope we will perform better in the future.
