According to Tasnim news agency, Amir Abedzadeh, a national team player of Iran, in an interview with the official website of the Football Federation about his readiness, the condition of the national team and his predictions for the upcoming two games against Iraq and the UAE, pointed out various points that we read below:
* First, explain a little about your situation at Ponfradina Club.
Thank God I have very good conditions at the club and in the previous game, which was the first game of the New Year, I finished the game with a closed goal. Unfortunately, we did not win this game, but we hope to get a better result in the next games and be among the contenders for promotion to La Liga.
* How do you assess the situation of the national team?
In these few months, the condition of the national team has been good and we have achieved excellent results. After the difficult situation in Bahrain, we started again from zero, and I think with more responsibility and energy, we were able to have another good start and get the maximum points. We have a good position now and we will continue this process, God willing.
* There are about three weeks left until the confrontation with Iraq and the UAE, how do you think the game will go?
The game against Iraq and the UAE is very important for us. Some people think that our promotion is final, but this is not the case, and all the players, officials and people who help the team, we must commit to focus on these two games in order to come out proud and we should not underestimate the opponents at all. We must continue the process we have had so far and continue this process without becoming emotional with high concentration and energy. The players came to the conclusion that they should have the highest level of readiness in their clubs. Let’s come to the national team with full readiness and serve the national team to make people happy and make better things happen.
* What is the difference between the facilities of the national team in the last few months compared to before? Are you satisfied with the conditions?
In terms of facilities, everything was good and we had suitable camps outside Iran. The conditions and flights have been good, especially since the legionnaires have to be constantly on the move, and fortunately we had good flight conditions and we are grateful for that. We all give our hearts and souls for the national team and we all work for the happiness of the people and the pride of our country. There has been some talk of injecting a multiplier effect among the players, which we hope will be finalized. So far, good things have been said and done by the authorities, and of course we are confident that this support will continue. We have reached better conditions than before, so we are all grateful and we do not underestimate it and we know the value of our position. All the federations and officials understand this and they are definitely trying to provide the facilities that the national team deserves, and we hope to reach the World Cup with all our might and make the people happy.
Q: What are your predictions for the outcome of the game against Iraq and the UAE?
Whenever we were on our own, we performed well against all the teams. I think it would be enough if we all focused on being the best of ourselves individually and as a team. When we were ourselves, the best results were achieved. It is as if we defeated our opponents away from home and I am sure that if we go to the field with high concentration and all our being, we will get off the field with the best result.
* Many believe that advancing from the group stage of the World Cup is not out of reach. How much do you hope for yourself?
I hope so. Given the work we have done in recent years, there is a great deal of belief in doing great things in the team. The team now has tremendous potential. We have great players who all have the ability to play in the best teams, and in answer to this question, we really have to say why not!
There were teams that we were better off without prejudice, when they could do it, so can we. It is important to go step by step and plan well to play with strong teams in friendly games to gain more experience while gaining experience. I’m sure with the team we have we can make bigger things happen.
