
According to IRNA, on Thursday, in continuation of the Taekwondo competition of the Islamic countries games in Konya, our country’s three wrestlers faced their opponents.
In today’s competition, Ali Ahmadi won the gold, Mehran Hashdari won the bronze medal, and Zahra Pourasmail was eliminated.
The results of the representatives of Iran are as follows:
In the women’s section, “Zahra Pourasmail” lost against the representative of the host in the minus 73 kg weight and withdrew from the competition.
In the men’s section and in the minus 80 kg weight category, “Mehran Hashadari” defeated opponents from Guinea and Kazakhstan and reached the semi-finals.
He then faced Uzbekistan’s “Shukert Salaev” and while he won the first round, he lost in the next 2 rounds and failed to reach the final to settle for the bronze medal.
“Ali Ahmadi” had a break at minus 87 kg weight and then “Rafalovic” defeated the prominent opponent from Uzbekistan and made his way to the semi-finals.
At this stage, he managed to defeat “Baker Taha” from the host country and take a step to the final fight.
In the final, Ahmadi faced “Fahd Sheikhi” from Jordan, and at the end of the fight that lasted for three rounds, he won to win the title of the third golden medal of Iranian taekwondo in Konya.
Iran’s taekwondo players won 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals in the past days. Tomorrow, Friday, four taekwondo representatives of our country will go to Shiapchang.
