America seeks to prevent nuclear cooperation between Iran and Russia – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to the Mehr News Agency, the Washington Free Beacon website reported, citing informed sources in the US Congress, that Senate Republicans are planning to approve a bill that would allow the Biden administration to extend the sanctions waivers that allow Russia and Iran in the area will be under pressure and the possibility of extending these cooperations will be taken from the Biden administration.
The bill, spearheaded by Senator Ted Cruz, is said to be likely to have broad bipartisan support.
According to reports, the bill would ban Russian participation in Iran’s nuclear projects and would challenge Iran’s ongoing work to redesign and modernize the Arak nuclear reactor.
This bill also targets Russia’s operations and training in the Bushehr nuclear power plant, as well as its role in transferring and storing Iran’s heavy water, and intends to limit Russia’s nuclear relations with Iran.
Previously, a number of American intelligence officials told CNN on Friday, November 13, that Iran wants Russia’s help to rapidly advance its nuclear program. Also, based on the 2015 JCPOA nuclear agreement, Iran can have some foreign relations with international partners in the nuclear field, and the Republican bill of the US Senate is completely against the goals foreseen in the 2015 nuclear agreement.
This is despite the fact that over the past months, American officials, including Ned Price, the spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have announced that Washington has removed the revival of the Iran nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA, from the agenda and is focusing on countering the military cooperation between Iran and Russia. . According to this report, Price also said in his press conference at the US State Department last week: “The comprehensive program of joint action has been off the agenda since a few months ago.”
Taking a gesture of support for the Iranian people, he added: “Currently, what is at the top of our agenda is to do everything to counter the growing military-technological cooperation between Iran and Russia.”
