Announcement of the new schedule of the world championship competitions/Iranian men’s volleyball starts from the capital of Slovenia

According to the sports reporter of Fars News Agency, the 2022 World Men’s Volleyball Championship will be hosted by two countries, Poland and Slovenia, from the 4th to the 20th of September 1401, with the participation of 24 teams.

The preliminary stage of this competition will start on Friday, the 4th of September and will continue for six days (the 9th of September) with 36 matches, and after this stage, eight teams will withdraw from the competition.

The complete grouping of the group stage of these competitions is as follows:

Group A: Ukraine, Serbia, Tunisia and Puerto Rico

Group B: Brazil, Japan, Cuba and Qatar

Group C: Poland, America, Mexico and Bulgaria

Group D: France, Slovenia, Germany and Cameroon

Group E: Italy, Canada, Turkey and China

Group F: Argentina, Iran, Netherlands and Egypt

The preliminary stage matches of two groups A and B will be hosted by Poland in the city of Katowice, and the other four groups will play in the capital of Slovenia (Ljubljana).

Therefore, Iran’s national volleyball team will face its opponents (Argentina, Egypt and Netherlands) in the preliminary stage in Slovenia.

The schedule of matches of the Iranian national volleyball team in the preliminary stage of the World Championship is as follows:

5th of September: Iran-Argentina at 20:00

7th of September: Iran-Egypt at 20:00

September 9: Iran – Netherlands at 20:00

At the end of the group stage, the top two teams of each group will advance to the second stage, and four teams from among the third teams of the six groups who perform better will enter the elimination stage.

The continuation of the World Men’s Volleyball Championship in 2022 will include the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final, and a total of 52 matches (group and knockout) will be held, and the champion of these competitions will be determined.

The 16 teams advancing to the round of 16 are placed in a table based on their performance in the group stage to determine the opponents of this stage. Therefore, in the round of 16, the first team will compete with the sixteenth, the second with the fifteenth, the third with the fourteenth, the fourth with the thirteenth, the fifth with the twelfth, the sixth with the eleventh, the seventh with the tenth, and the eighth team with the ninth.

This stage will start for four days from Saturday, September 12, and will be followed up with eight meetings in Gliwice (Poland) and Ljubljana (Slovenia).

The quarter-final stage of the 2022 World Men’s Volleyball Championship will also be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 16 and 17, with four matches in the two cities of Glivice and Ljubljana, to determine the top four teams of this tournament.

The semi-final and final stages of these competitions will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, hosted by the city of Katowice, Poland.
