Ashuri: Our goal of participating in Karate One Baku was not a medal / the evaluation of the national team is more important than anything else.

Mohsen Ashuri On Wednesday, in an interview with IRNA’s sports reporter, he explained the performance of Iranian karatekas in the Baku KarateOne Premier League, as well as the Federation’s goals for participating in this event, and stated: People with a ranking of less than 100 could participate in this competition.

Karatewans are a place for evaluation

The Acting Vice President of the Karate Federation said: Karatewans used to be very important for increasing the ranking and getting the Olympic quota, but now it does not have this feature. Now, participation in these competitions is a place for the federation officials and technical staff to evaluate the players’ conditions. Players are also motivated and interested in participating in Karatewan to increase their ranking.

Quotation of the world championships was canceled

He answered a question that it was announced a while ago that the World Karate Championship will also have a quota from now on. He explained: This issue was raised, but it subsided very quickly, and the 2023 World Championships, which will be held in Hungary in November 1402, will be held with the same method as before, and there is no quota.

Our goal was not a medal and I am satisfied with the children

Regarding the performance of Iranian players in Baku, Ashuri said: Our karatekas have not participated in overseas competitions for a long time and our assessment of their performance is positive. I am satisfied with them, but they are not ideal. In the Premier League, 85% of the best players in the world are present.

He said: We did not go to Baku to bring medals and our goal was to evaluate the old generation and the new ones. Even if all our medals were gold, what effect would it have on the trend and status of Iranian karate? For sure, the technical staff got the necessary impression from attending Karatewan Baku to draw their strategy for the future.

We participate in Turkish karatevan

He further pointed out that the Iranian team is also present in Turkey and said: We will send a number of other people to Turkey so that the federation and the technical staff can have a proper evaluation of the entire national team. At this point in time; Measurement and evaluation are more important.

I hope that special attention will be given to karate

Regarding the participation of national teams in the Asian Championship, he said: these matches will be held in December in all age groups hosted by Uzbekistan. We must attend this event as well as the World Basic Championships. To participate in these 2 events, a lot of funds are needed, but we must participate because all categories of national teams are important to us, and I hope that we will receive special support from the Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic Committee to participate in the competitions.

Harvi and Mehdizadeh have a deep relationship

Regarding the end of Amir Mehdizadeh’s differences with the head coach of the national team, Shahram Haravi, he explained: Mehdizadeh won the best medals for our country in the most difficult fields for many years, and Heravi, as a head coach, played an important role in the honors of Mehdizadeh and others. There is a deep relationship between Mehdizadeh and the head coach, which was covered by dust for some time. Thank God, these two loved ones hugged each other during the Baku matches and everything ended well.

Every person was in a bad place and did not get a medal

He went on to explain the performance of Iranian karatekas and said: First, I will start with Pourshib, who fought very smartly against a strong Egyptian opponent in the ranking match and used all his experiences and won. Everyone was in a bad place, they lost to the representative of Egypt in less than a minute. I didn’t see any sign of fatigue in him during the matches and he played very strong and powerful.

Asgari’s message was clear; i am back

Ashuri: Our goal of participating in Karate One Baku was not a medal / the evaluation of the national team is more important than anything else.

Expressing his happiness at the powerful return of Bahman Asgari to the world of tatami, Ashuri said: He was absent for a long time, but his presence in Baku and winning the silver medal had a message. i am back Asgari has been proud many times and he deserved gold in Baku.

Khaksar took advantage of what he had

Acting Vice-President of the Karate Federation said: “Taravat Khaksar” reached third place and bronze medal without technical loss. He took advantage of what he had. However, he could have been a finalist.

Bahmanyar gained valuable experience

Regarding Sara Bahmanyar’s winning the silver medal, he said: “She was very reasonable in all her fights, but her opponent from Venezuela, who is ranked seventh in the world, was very strong and won against Bahmanyar in the finals.” Facing this opponent was a valuable experience for Sara, which can have an impact on her training process in order to win against this opponent in future matches.

Boredom became a problem for Alipour on the final day

Ashuri continued: Rosita Alipour presented good matches and came to the field on the final day despite her boredom. Although he did not win a medal, nothing diminishes his value.

Barjali has the ability to excel against Ayumi

He continued by praising Leila Barjali’s performance: She was excellent in 2 fights and won, and I think she was influenced by Ayumi’s name in the third match as well. I am sure that Barjali has the ability to dominate against Ayumi.

Heydari is an all-around player

The Acting Vice President of the Karate Federation then named Mobina Heydari and said: “He is an all-round player and has good technical, tactical and physical characteristics.” Heydari only needs experience and when I say that our goal in Baku was not to win a medal, that’s why. This loss can be a price for the bright future of people like Heydari.

To be honest, I am to blame for what happened

In the end, regarding what happened to Fatemeh Sadeghi from Qatar, who was not allowed to participate in the first match due to not observing the color of the uniform, he said: I was away from karate for a while, and as the leader of the expedition team, I did not know that in the Premier League, the color of the uniform Kataro is important. Regarding what happened to Fatemeh Sadeghi, I am guilty.
